My garden
Photo by Florian GIORGIO on Unsplash

I spent so much of my life

trying to make myself smaller.

There has always been a world inside me,

that i hid for so long. There has always been

colorful flowers waiting to flourish in my soul.

I hid myself for the comfort of others.

I hid myself because i was always told that

i wasn't enough.

They were wrong.

I'm choosing now to water the garden in me,

just before the sunflowers began to die.

I can already see the growth, and it's

just the beginning.

I will no longer bury myself for the comfort of others.

My garden is too beautiful for that.
