My Everyday Dialogue with My Boys
Meet my 6 and 8-year-old creative cowboys
Mom, listen! Imagine if Minecraft were real life.
We could build pixelated castles taller than you and Dad!
*
Yeah, and in Roblox, we'll race under the sun.
In Minecraft we'll dig deep and find monsters asleep!
*
And I'd have a pet dragon that breathes cotton candy!
*
Plus, Minecraft teaches us to be architects and engineers.
Building, crafting, it's a work of art.
These are more than games, you know? That's the best part.
*
Mom, Roblox lets us be anything, even superheroes saving the day!
*
Think of all the cool stuff we could show you!
We'll build you a house with a garden and a space car too.
Let us explore, create, and learn to fit in... even Jared is playing Roblox.
*
Pleeeeease, Mom! It's like playing with Legos, but way cooler, no sus!
*
Yeah! It's not just playing, it's like solving puzzles
We can be super creative and not make a mess.
We'll be quiet in our virtual world, and not bother you, Mom!
*
And you know what? We can chat with our friends
and have adventures and meetups.
*
We promise we won't spend all day on it.
Just enough to build some pretty amazing things!
*
Please, Mom, pretty please with a creeper on top?
*
Yeah, and a diamond sword! We'll be miners and fighters!
*
And the best builders too! Can we? Can we? Pleeeeease?
*
Well, you two have definitely made it sound fun, my boys.
But what do we do with all your real-life toys?
Should we sell them, or give them away for free?
*
Nonono, mom! Those are our toys, you see!?
We don't want to part with our Legos and toy cars,
We promise we'll play with them too.
*
I know you want it all, my boys, screen time AND toys.
But real-life world is more important at your age.
These minecraft and roblox games are for above twelve!
*
Awwww mom, pleease, we promise to be good!
*
Screen time is not a joke for attention span,
Brain development of kids is a whole different worry for a mom.
*
Ok ok, mom! At least we tried.. (boys sulking, defeated)
We'll just go outside and build sand castles
and fly a kite.

Outside play - the best😍 we were never inside - we were FREE outside, free from orders and watchful mom eyes LOL
Great story and well written. I think a balance of screen time and outdoor time is beneficial. Screen time can help develop skills that outdoor time can't and vice versa.
It’s cute they still play with toys even if video games take most of there time. In the end mom always give in ♥️
Fun and entertaining dialogue poem!!!💕❤️❤️
I have lost the screen time battle...
Ah, those screentime battles! This is great.
They made quite a charming and convincing case! Way to stay strong! Great dialogue poem!
You’re a great mum, Gabriela. Raising young ones is not easy because of all the distraction these days! Please say hi, to your three boys for me!
Your boys are so cute. Great idea to share their adorability!
Your boys are the gold mines of wonder and joy...I really enjoyed reading it....
