Neglected for breathing my truth.

Neglected for natural smiles.

Neglected for tears over time.

Neglected for a competitive will.

Neglected for warmth turning cold.

Neglected for protecting my soul.

Neglected for a brain breaking involuntarily.

Neglected for speaking of heartache.

Neglected for acknowledging complexities.

Neglected for fragile softness.

Neglected for hardening after breaking.

Neglected for setting boundaries.

Neglected for bargaining with death.

Neglected for not accepting that “it could’ve been worse,”

Neglected for choosing passion over money.

Neglected for earning the spotlight.

Neglected for wanting to be invisible.

Neglected, always neglected.

Why is it so natural to ignore me?

You live your lives; why can’t I?
