My Daughter Has A Your's, Mine, and Ours Family
With two adopted children and one adopted grandchild.
My daughter adopted a child when she was 24 after working as a foster parent. She married a man with a stepson and two daughters with his first wife. After my daughter and her husband married they had three children together and then adopted a bio sister to the son my daughter adopted.
When another sibling came along to her adopted children's bio mom, their oldest daughter was married and adopted her. This made her my daughter's grandchild, her siblings' niece, and bio sister.
The kids are all doing well. Three are in their 30s, 1 in his 20s, 2 in their teens, and 2 preteens.
The adopted children's bio mom died recently and the moms of the adopted children just found out on Friday. The children were told on Sunday. They don't know any circumstances, or where she was buried. There is no obituary that the moms have found.
The only photo my daughter could find was a mug shot. Their mother was on the run from a probation violation. I cried as my granddaughter told me that. She appeared happy to have that.
She died in April
found out Friday
daughter/niece birthday Saturday
told the kids Sunday.
~
Bio mom had 5 children
none were with her
1 sibling was adopted then
1 was with the family of his father
It is so sad.
And really too bad.
I cried for my
grandchildren and asked why.
~
I always prayed for her to get better.
My hope was she would get the help needed
I knew there was a chance her addiction would get her.
She may have had a relationship if she succeeded.
It wasn't to be and now she is gone.
Her children will carry on.
~
They will do alright with the support
of their family and friends, I am happy to report.
They have their sibling group and
the family that loves them. One grand
was here today and wrote a letter
to her brother a few hours away hoping he is better
as he heard at school from cousins of the death
and I was sorry he had to hear that way, it took my breath
~
Four are in touch with each other. Their brother and his mom
would come up for wrestling because his older brother was the bomb.
His matches made him go to state and nationals.
They are some athletic kids and their story is sometimes irrational
We never know who will make it out of addiction and who won't.
~
I just know it isn't always predictable and it don't
matter what someone says or does sometimes
It makes no sense and then there are hard times
for all involved. And especially the children
who have the hope that their mother will come to see them
someday!
That hope is gone today!

This was such heartbreaking news 🥺 Sending everyone lots of love and hugs ❤️
What a great family. Actually I really liked the original movie called Yours, Mine and Ours with Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball. Whenever I see that movie on tv I watch. Family is important and you want a good poem in helping.
I have been waiting for your poems. Happy to read.
