My Coroner

Poppy’s prompt #6

I didn’t ask for an autopsy

Yet here you are, pulling me apart

You weigh what is in my heart

With a broken scale

Yank out my intestines like a rope

Because you don’t have the guts

To turn the scalpel on yourself

You curl up on the table

Hide what’s inside from examination

While laying me bare for all to see
