My Cigarette

Poem

Sitting in the loo

With a cigarette between my fingers

Inhaling nicotine

And blowing it out in thin air

I feel so relaxed.

It has always been my companion

Ever since my teens

When most of my friends

used me as their doormat

And deserted me for their own selfish needs.

Years went by

I still have it, my only companion

All through the years

While people walked in & out of my life

I breathe easy, puff after puff

In my own company

With my best companion

To share all of myself

Undividedly,

My cigarette!
