My Castle

A short poem

Nary a stone block

Not a spire in sight

Decidedly lacking a gate or moat

No grand staircase or chandeliers

*

My castle,

Though modest,

Has comfort -

Places to sit or recline

Heating and cooling on demand

Places at which to prepare and enjoy

Favored sustenance and entertainment.

*

Most importantly,

My castle is replete with

Love

Kindness

Care

For those who grace me

With their presence

Fair day

And welcome

To my castle
