My Candle

I lit a candle today,

It smelled of cinnamon and spice,

I lit a candle in my room today and my mother told me “That was wrong.”

I lit a candle in my room today like every other day before

How come my mother never noticed the candles that I had burnt in my room before?

Oh yes now I see... It’s probably because this time it’s alight on the floor!

Today I lit a candle because it lights a fire in my soul and also because I never like doing what I am told.
