My Cage

Lines Of Rhyme

By Gee On A JourneyPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

Your actions never intended to hurt

But they still left a searing burn

Bottomless sorrow turned into rage

That became my cage

Please just go away, to these feelings I’d say

So I lay

At night alone in my bed

Pillows drenched with tears that run red

A wine infused head

Fuelled by smoke to hide from my dread

Dreadlocks in my hair

From all the ware and tear

I cut it all off in my deep despair

A bunch of cells now on the side of the toilet sink

Just looking at it makes my mood sink

But it also makes me think

It’s time to move on, I’m on the brink!

I’m not angry anymore

Just a girl who’s obsessive compulsion has become a bore

No more

Will I just snore

Away my days, each one an opportunity to make a change

This sentiment I embrace

As I smash the walls of my self made cage!
