My Bucket List
No time for regrets
There comes a day for all of us
When our Soul will leave this plane,
Please ensure there are no items
On our Bucket list that still remain.
***
So I’ll start my Bucket List today
With all the things I’d want fulfilled,
Before that fateful day does come
If dreams come true I’d be thrilled.
***
I’d welcome becoming a Grandmother
Seeing both my boys settled and happy,
Ideally both to become fathers
And learn how to change a nappy.
***
Another tick off my list
Seeing both boys settled in a career,
That’s both rewarding and challenging
Both tackling their future frontier.
***
No need to add or remind me
To treasure every minute second,
With those I love around me
If their busy I’ll at least check in.
***
I will give myself permission
To take the time to smell the roses,
At times life seems so busy
We don’t realise when our door closes.
***
Lastly, written in large bold letters
“There will be no time for regrets,”
So I won’t put off those things today
That if I missed I would be upset!

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
