My Brother, My Friend and a few others

Poems I have written and published in several past anthologies

I am sharing several poems that I have had published back in the late, great 80's in the American Poetry Anthology that started me thinking about a writing career before I started going to college and becoming a teacher and later a nurse.

The first one is: My Brother, My Friend (written when I was 13)

I Love my brother, no one could take him away.

Never wish for eternal life on earth, that would come true, I know.

But now I know, never wish the impossible.

But now that he is gone, finally I know I loved him.

But not as just as a brother, but as a friend.

(The next poem is entitled 'Tracks'.)

Stretching

far and wide

wonder where they go

Always wondering

taking people or freight

to different places

Living the hobo life

All day long and

All night long.

Just wondering where you

will end up following

the tracks.

Stretching

far and wide.

Forever.
