My Black History

The movement is real.

By Briana GuerrierPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

People walked for me, People marched for me , they were enslaved for me, this is my black history,

I was told to move to the back of the bus, I was telling the world "I have a dream" I was told that I came from monkeys this is my black history,

I stood outside in the heat for hours , I stood in line for a bathroom I couldn't use, so the underground started to move, this is my black history,

I couldn't be taught the same as everyone, I couldn't read what everyone else read, this is my black history,

Now I walk standing free, now I can make a change, now we're all the same, now I can make a change in My Black History
