LOVE is the anchor in the shifting sand,
The sturdy grip of a gentle hand,
A silent promise, softly made,
A place where all our worries fade.
It grounds us in the present, sure and true,
A steadfast harbor in a sky of blue,
Through the wildest storm, it holds us fast,
A shelter where the peace will last.
It isn't grand, this gentle pull,
But in its quiet, the world is full,
Of steady strength, a constant hum,
From which all deeper blessings come.
It roots our heart within the earth,
Acknowledging our silent worth,
A quiet constant, always near,
Dispelling doubt and conquering fear.
The laughter shared with trusted FRIENDS,
A chorus bright and free,
A knowing glance, a shared embrace,
A steady community.
In their warm glow, the spirit thrives,
Through every ebb and flow,
A mirror to the self we are,
A safe and vital glow.
The steady pulse of shared belief,
The comfort of the 'we',
A grounding force, a gentle tide,
That sets the true self free.
And then, the gift of being alone,
In SOLITUDE, we mend.
A space to breathe, to be,
From start to the end.
No masks required, no audience held,
Just presence, calm and deep,
The silent wisdom of the soul,
It promises to keep.
A necessary, vital peace,
To recharge and to find,
The quiet center of our world,
The stillness of the mind.
The smell of FOOD is the grounding spell…
A scent of sizzling garlic escaped from the heat beneath,
The careful work of human hands, transforming simple wheat.
The table set, the glasses near, a ritual old and kind,
Dispelling all doubt and fear, and calming down the mind.
It brings us wholly to the now, the savor and the taste,
Reminding us that no moment is a waste.
The body’s need, the earth’s good gift, accepted, warm, and true,
A simple, necessary lift, for me, and then for you.
We eat to live, we live to share, this comfort on a plate,
A moment free from all despair, a pause from hurried fate.
It grounds the spirit to the bone, a grounding deep and real,
And with our PET next to us, the softest purr, the earnest gaze,
The simple joy in simple ways,
A paw placed gently on your knee,
Pure presence for the soul to see.
They do not fret about yesterday,
Nor worry for the coming day;
They live entirely in the now,
And teach us gently, why and how,
To meet the world with an open heart,
To play the grounded, present part.
The loyal trot beside the chair,
The unconditional love they bear,
Reminds us that the world is sound,
With them in it, we are truly grounded.
