BACKSTORY: Real Life, Not a Daydream

Longtime muse, music

Nourishes body and soul,

Soaring spirits fly.

.

Flute playing sustains

Balancing sounds with silence

On the road or home.

.

All the world’s a stage

Touring opportunities

Ever expanding . . .

.

Venues may be small

Cozy cafes to grand halls

Formal Carnegie.

.

Traveling the globe,

Destinations near and far

Nurture and enrich.

.

Elephant ears flap

Cackling high-pitched hyenas

Bellowing hippos.

.

Feathered listeners:

Zimbabwe riverside birds

Enchant with duets.

.

Sonic offerings

Tin whistle, ocarina

Captivate, bewitch.

.

Antarctic penguins–

An unlikely audience

Ignoring danger.

.

Nervous naturalist

Requests cutting concert short

Birds of prey move on . . .

.

ACTUAL DREAM: Intergalactic Music Tour

Moonlight not needed

Cocooning amidst soft light

Dreams eclipse real life.

.

Tours re-imagined

During stillness of deep sleep

Senses awaken.

.

Exploring new worlds

Latest platform: Outer Space

Planets, not countries . . .

.

Foreign instruments

Creating music anew,

Forms and shapes unknown.

.

No camera here

Cinematic splendor rules

Painting a picture.

.

Friendly atmosphere

Music permeates the space

Smiling beings throng.

.

Humanoids gather

Distant planets welcome sounds

With souls from afar.

.

Intimate settings

Pubs become venues of choice,

Concert halls replaced.

.

Foreign food and drink

Otherworldliness the norm

Sounds reverberate . . .

.

No philosophy–

Relaxed and congenial

Music of the Spheres.

.
