Music Hath Charms

...to sooth the savage beast

Rescued Lionesses

Although the above quote sounds Shakespearean, it's from a poem called, The Mourning Bride, by William Congreve, 1697, many years after William Shakespeare's death.

Plumes, the French musician and animal activist in the video above sings to all manner of animals. In every video I've seen of him, the animals always gather to listen.

This poem is inspired by these caged animals having a moment.

Day after day,

We languish in boredom.

Very little to do.

No need to fight

When food comes to us as needed.

Water is presented without danger.

Seek shade and wile away the time.

Lethargy

Monotony

Tedium...

But wait!

Here's something new.

Gather!

Listen!

A special sound is happening.

Something unique, exciting.

Let's get closer.

Maybe sing along.

It's a great day to hear music.
