It’s not bad, the way of the mushroom.
living low, below the radar, out of sight
from the blistering sun.
hanging out in the cool damp
underbrush
living large off the decaying and dead
matter
feeding off the dead.
this is the right way
often times.
let the cypresses blow
in the light of day
let the tall pines hold
up the sky
while the mushroom workers
work their magic.
there’s a lot to do
there’s a lot to know
the mushrooms are the
synaptic nerves of the Earth.
the mushrooms do the thinking for the world.
and the dreaming.
keep dreaming.
