Johnny sat staring out his window

Thoughts

Nothing in particular

Doris' toof rolled around in his mouth

His Soo Van Ear

That was funny, they both had a laugh over that

She had gifted it to him prior to her demise

After he slapped it out of her head

Now it rolled around in his head

He liked the sound it made when it clicked against his teeth

He liked how it felt on his tongue

Sexy little chicklet

A piece of hard candy that never dissolved

Johnny tried to sweeten the tooth by hiding it in the sugar bowl on his mother's kitchen table

It didn't work

He tried putting it in a box of Cherry Jello

Overnight

It was no use

The tooth like the woman was never going to sweeten up

He finally determined it wasn't the flavor but the texture

Smooth enamel

Sharp edges from where it had dislodged from her gums

The clicking sound

All a reminder of her

Doris
