I’ll never hear your voice again

Perhaps that hurts the most

When I call, you won’t answer

That ‘hello’ is now a ghost

.

Who will ask what I had for dinner

And what friends I’ve seen that week?

Who will chat so excitedly

I’ve hardly room to speak?

.

I won’t see your smile again

That makes my heart ache

Now I’ll just dream of it

And I’ll cry when I wake

.

But I’ll always hold your memory close

And remember what you taught

You’re words are never further

Than the distance of a thought
