With a sigh I slice your apple

exuding tradwife, docilely serving, lunch packing

inwardly seething; I grapple

with the me

you do not see

Maintaining my stealth is nerve-wracking.

*

There's a man in the mirror

sang Jackson, facing that is the beginning of change

I'm your mirror; you know my veneer

-not the me

you do not see-

I'm carefully polished; mirroring no longer strange.

*

Reflection wavers, threatens the great seal

True Self, Girl, Wife, Mother, Lover, impatience queued

Hurry! Mirror in place! Your Expectation again shines Real

not the ME

you do not see

Knife in hand, behind the mirror I am Multitude.
