Mr. Teddy at Tea Time
By Brianna Galligan
How quietly you sit there watching,
You're black pupil eyes now gleaming and laughing,
They dance and they shimmer in light of the sun.
Waiting your turn to join in the fun.
You sit and you wonder how long it will be
Before they will bring you all comfy, cozy.
The tea has been brewing. The cakes have been set.
The bows have been primped and the saucers are met.
You smile so gaily at frocks that are flowing...
Happy to be where the wind is not blowing.
The scent of the leaves has now filled the air
And all of the while you know not a care.
You sit in temptation, just eyeing the biscuits,
Wondering if she'll give one to the misfits.
Yet happy are you when she holds you high up,
Sits you down in your chair, and hands you your cup.
The liquid drips, steaming, the cakes lie in wait.
The tea time commences and won't that be great!
