Pregnancy is so powerful that it changes you

The awareness that you house another life

A breathe in another breathe

A bone in another bone

The beauty of nature that transcends reasoning

We all are like a folded ball with limbs

At some point we move and turn and shake

Hoping that someday we get to see the world beyond the undefined fluid in which we are floating in

Here we are taking the first breathe

A cry that opens up the portal to new beginnings

Air as food to the lungs

And milk the real food to the belly

The woman smiles, laughs and sometimes cries

Wondering how she became a pathway to another living being

A real existence that's beyond her own self

At an instance

The morning weaknesses are all gone

The womb deflates like a football

It becomes a question of who told the salivary glands to stop working

The crazy cravings

The mood swings

The sudden sullenness

And sometimes excitement of another little one coming to life

The joy of motherhood is powerful

Yet she's in a constantly changing world that argues with her identity

Women are powerful

Childbearing changes them

Let's give them their onion
