Mother Earth Surrenders

Mother Earth has tried so hard,
To keep things on the straight
And narrow.
But the Earth is crumbling day by day,
And the cowboy still fires his bow and arrow.

The trees are being felled,
The rivers are running dry.
The winter ice is melting,
The sea is rising,
Nothing’s the same as days gone by.

The seasons come,
The seasons go,
And nothing is the same.
Mother Earth is ready to give up,
And stop playing this human game.

She’s warned us,
And she’s tried to tell us,
That we are all destroying the Earth.
But we put her on the back burner,
We didn’t understand her worth.

She’s tried so hard to fix it,
And now the Earth is on the way
To being dead.
No more, no more murdering humans,
Just planets in the sky so dark instead.

There is no quick solution,
Because people just won’t see.
Exactly what their actions
Are doing,
To this Earth for you and me.

So till everyone wises up,
And decides that actions
Must change.
Mother Earth has got to stop,
She can’t keep arranging our mistakes.

She breaks her heart,
And the tears they fall,
They hit the drying stream.
Just enough to keep it running,
Till the stars forget their beam.

The trees can’t hear the whisper,
Of her saying,
It’ll be alright.
Because even they know something’s wrong,
And it happens day and night.

This fighting and this war,
Pollution day by day.
And nothing they can say
To humans,
Would make things be okay.

Because humans seem to just want,
To destroy everything
That they have got.
And now the seasons are going upside down,
The summers are too hot.

The sun is burning land and trees,
The winter’s cold with ice.
What’s happened to this Earth
We live in?
Just isn’t very nice.
