I've gained my party of joy
And I love every minute of it.
Mother duck am I,
And my raucous chorus of quacking friends
I love, love, love you.
We're a mess, we are.
Bustling and noisy and overcrowded
The Weasleys all over again.
And yet there's peace to our joy.
When we find each other like magpies search with song
How bats can locate with only echoes of their beloved's heartbeats
It's a pulling from the heart and soul and mind.
Deep in unearthed blood
Because we are joyous
Together.
Define it,
Fit it into a simple word
And it feels insignificant and easy coming.
It shouldn't be.
It will never be.
I don't want it to ever be.
Because with all of you,
I can quack and squack with love
I can laugh and edit and almost burst
I can be chaotic and loud and ME
And it's thanks to you, my ducklings
Being you, you, you.
Even if it's just then
Even if it's never always
Or only sometimes, just in those "now"s
I love it.
Quack.
