In selling out their country
to forces foreign and malign,
it ain’t Uncle Sam who’s most at large.
… no, no, no - it’s Moscow Marge!
.
In talking down their country
to baptise themselves divine,
it ain’t Dozy Don who leads the charge.
… no, no, no - it’s Moscow Marge!
.
In breaking up their country
to fracture beauty by design,
it ain’t decorum who will barge.
… no, no, no - it’s Moscow Marge!
.
A very useful idiot in espionage
… yes, yes, yes - that’s Moscow Marge!
.

A first impression has a lasting effect - it makes a notable difference. In a subtle way that’s who I am as a poet. A ‘first impression’ looking for the gentle ‘twist’ that draws attention to a novel observation.
