Morning has spoken

A million birds can’t be wrong!

Sunrise… so soon?

Pale pink rays paint the sky

Dah da dharrrr…

Grrr… not yet!

Time to wake!

Hoo whooo… who?

Shh… I’ve barely slept!

Does it matter? Does it matter?

Tweet, sweet

Dah da dharrrr…

Hah, ha, ha, harrrr

It’s not funny!

Hah, ha, ha, harrrr

Sweet, tweet

So true, so true…

It’s barely sunny!

Huh huh huh?

Does it matter? Does it matter?

Get up nowwww!

What, what, what?

Hoo whooo… who?

Okay, okay…

Screech, screech

I’m up! I’ll start my day.

Hah, ha, ha, harrrr!

Sweet, sweet!

About time!

***

The neighbour’s rooster regularly rouses me for a bright early start on a summer’s day. When I persist in snuggling under the cosy covers, a swell of melodious birdsong joins him in his quest to oust me. How can I resist?

I can’t.

I don’t.
