"More"

what September brings

For as long as I can remember, my senses have "more life" to me in the month of September. I feel more alive, more vibrant. And now that I am experiencing my 70th September, none of that has changed. I feel younger in September!

The air is cooler and fresher, the earth begins to feel more inviting and subdued. It isn't childish and demanding like the hot summer months. And as September and the whole of Autumn have brought their magic, I am always saddened when it must leave and allow the biting harshness of Winter to make its way in.

Many people revel in Spring with all the newness it brings. And I am not taking any glory away from that, but where Spring brings new hope, Autumn brings purpose. All the magnificent colors of oranges, reds, yellows with all their varying shades and hues are seeming to tell us we belong to the universe and serve to blend back into the earth, like the leaves that have fallen. Their beauty seeps to the roots of where life has begun before. They speak of pressing in to the ground and giving nutrients to carry on a good work.

Thank you, God for September!
