Moonlit Crossing
Like a magic torch to lead the lost

Moonlit Crossing
The moon climbed high above rooftops,
Pouring silver on the quiet stream.
An old bridge carried silent footsteps,
As though it walked inside a dream.
My bicycle leaned against the railing,
Its shadow stretched across the stone.
It waited like an old companion,
Content to leave me there alone.
The water gathered broken moonlight,
Turning darkness into glass.
Every ripple held a memory,
Of days I wished would never pass.
The lamps stood tall like faithful keepers,
Guarding hours the world forgot.
Their amber glow embraced the silence,
Warming every lonely thought.
I crossed the bridge without a hurry,
Letting midnight slow my pace.
Sometimes peace is found in darkness,
Not every light must show its face.
When morning pulled the stars to slumber,
The mist began to drift away.
Yet part of me remained upon that bridge,
Where moonlight chose my heart to stay.
