Moonbeams

Mikeydred's Moon in June prompt

By Novel AllenPublished 25 days ago Updated 25 days ago 1 min read

Basking in the silvery gleam of the dimming of twilight's glow

I eagerly await the subtle beckoning

of evening's shadowy prismatic silhouette in colors

billowing into nighttime's awakening blue hour.

As l'heure bleue illuminates the sky

It promises the serenity of a peaceful night

under the silvery strawberry moon.

My upturned face, enraptured by the starry expanse

of the heavenly bodies held in magical wonder high above,

ponders the awe and imagination of creativity in Creation.

I pick succulent juicy fruits from the lazy strawberry vines

as the stars twinkle gleefully, playfully winking at the earth.

The Man In the Moon peers down at my solitary form

enchanted by my winsome upturned and enquiring face.

'Yon damsel is fair of face and lovely to behold', he mutters.

Intrigued, he plucked a moonbeam from a nearby passing cloud

and rode majestically down to my beguiling loving gaze

reaching out his hand, he invited me to ride with him

upon the lovely moonbeam floating on the wind.

Without hesitation, I took his hand quite happily

for I had fallen deeply into a love-at-first-sight daze.

Up, up to the moon we gently glided

happily throwing caution to the wind.

He sent a star to inform my family

that I would henceforth live happily as

The Lady In The Moon.

We lived content for many wax and wane of the moon

our children are the stars glowing happily in the sky

On very clear nights you can see our family romping playfully

within the confines of the silvery strawberry moon

Sometimes we ride down upon the happy moonbeams

and go peeking in at your windows

To wish you peaceful rest and a cheery goodnight!!!
