Monsters

Hidden but never vanquished

You were just another

monster running around my head

I've loosened the vice grip

bolted around

my crumbling life

I'll pitch you in a box

lock you up instead

wrap it in plain brown paper

slide you under the bed

the refuge I sought to hide

now, you'll rot away inside

I'll never think of you

once all the broken pieces

of your imaginary

constructed life

the devastation

you've wrought

are stuffed inside
