Money

For Cash We Scream

By Mark Stigers Published 5 months ago • 1 min read

A room full of people

don’t agree on much

But a hundred dollars

Is still hundred bucks

A little piece of paper

A promise and a note

It’s legal Tender

That floats on hope

For Cash we scream

The American dream

Gonna buy some threads

And a huge lot of bling

Gonna pay cash

For the whole damn thing

My wallet thick

I got a wad

Full as hell

And I thank God

For Cash we scream

The American dream

Can you buy happiness

With a dollar bill

What’s a wad of cash worth

If you’re feeling ill

Do you like the feel

of money in your hand

What does it cost

To be the big head man

For cash we scream

The American dream

To have A lot makes you rich

To have a little makes you poor

It’s never enough

You always want more

You can’t take it with you

When you pass on

Yet we hoard all you can

Until the day we’re gone

For cash we scream

The American dream
