Standing in the bathroom,
Staring at my reflection
My mirrored image made a move
And said, this direction
*
Without a Word, he summoned me
And I quickly followed
I blinked - suddenly, becoming three
As one of me swallowed
*
The three of us just stood there
Soaking up, irony
Thank god I’d bought new underwear
3 for five, Old Navy
*
I must’ve been aware, somehow
They had plans for me
Cause I didn’t seem surprised till now
That we were all green
*
We mingled for a while
Before ordering pizzas
Surfed the internet for smiles
And found Mona Lisa
*
I never thought about it much
Till one of me mentioned
The artist made a special touch
When he was commissioned
*
Slightly to the left side of her beautiful face
Was that evidence she known about
A superior race?
She hid her ID well, no doubt
Her eyes, mirrored the stars
Her smile, a universal pout
DaVinci captured Mars?
No one can point out
What secrets she wouldn’t say
I suppose it’s for the best
That we let sleeping dogs lay
No one will ever confess
And, history has been made
We’ll let your imagination do the rest
The mind loves to play
*
Then, without warning
My alarm clock went, ding
It would appear that I was dreaming
I can’t remember a thing
I gazed at my reflection
And my eyes closed again
My closest recollection
Of my alien friends

Ooooo, but was it really a dream? The mind indeed loves to play!
Great story building.
love the twist and the waking moment!
Did you have anchovies on that pizza? That could explain why your reflection turned green (& why you saw three of you). But the cosmic nature of that Mona Lisa smile I think we can all agree upon.
Ohhh this is a really unique and brilliant challenge entry! Great job Kelli 💜🕊️✨
