A Poem

These moments will pass,

Like glittering sands,

Through an hourglass.

Good and bad are rushed,

Falling silent forever;

Lives and legacies hushed.

Flowers will bloom,

But petals will wilt,

Falling into gloom.

Young hearts break,

But love always gives,

Chances in its wake.

Laughter and childish joys,

Remembered by the old,

Once little girls and boys.

Summer leaves with a gust,

Making way for winter;

A seasonal must.

Wounds tender and sore,

Will leave nothing behind,

But who was there before.

Work and money devour,

Eating up your time;

Nowhere in your final hour.

Moments are all the same;

The good, the bad,

The praise, the shame.

Don’t suffer one,

And not savour another,

Or else you’ll live none.
