I’m the moment

before, during and after that which

surrenders to me

and I surrender to it …

Dear Achy Regurgitated Moment,

You are residual

clutter in my head

that flaps rehashings,

propelling my momentum backwards

Dear Blissful Bygone Moment,

You are perpetual

ecstasy in my heart

that surfs evolution,

potentiating my integrity forwards

Dear Here Moment

You are habitual

presence in my path

that grounds being,

earthing my spirit now

Dear Anticipatory Moment

You are eventual

existence in wonder

that taunts palpitations,

seducing my dreams evermore

The Neverwas Moment

You are grim

stilettos of “if onlys”

that puncture promises,

disintegrating the anchors of hope

Dear Nil Moment

You are invisible

stirrings of possibility

that appoint silence,

arousing both annoyance and acceptance

I submitted this for the After the Parade Challenge. Thanks for reading, and for considering a clicked heart, comment, Pledge and Tip if you so choose. See more of my writing and info about me here: Jessica Amber Barnum
