Modern Day Frankenstein

I hurried out of bed, such a busy day today

I need to pull together our shopping list,

My assistant is impatiently waiting downstairs

Our project, Frankenstein with a bit of a twist.

What do we need to bring this project to fruition

All the best of humanity but let’s ditch the rest,

The greatness, the goodness and the true heart

What it means to be human, what do you suggest?

***

Let’s start with two basic necessities and go from there

A brain that is programmed with the desired qualities,

A heart that knows love and it’s connecting emotions

We can then pick and choose other human properties.

***

We strongly believe we need to include empathy

Without which this project would not understand,

In fact let’s include intuition in correlation

As it’ll help with the empathetic command.

***

Creativity is a must to enable it to problem solve

Or the brain wouldn’t have any imagination,

A natural partner to choose next would be passion

Without there would be no desire or enthusiasm.

***

We better take this one step further

Include its ability to be a life-long learner,

Great caution is needed here to ensure

The topics are restricted to those that nurture.

***

What’s next on our list that we consider important

The ability to listen and really hear between the words,

To be able to wrangle out the true message spoken

As it is a necessity in life, the ability to be heard.

***

Persuasion is another trait our Frankenstein should acquire

This ability will allow it to persuade others to embrace,

All the positives such as morals, conscience and love

To save humanity before it makes any more mistakes.

***

Must include the ability to be responsible and kind

My assistant may have trouble finding these two traits,

As without there’d be no generosity or consideration

Our project will hinge on obtaining our criteria dictates.

***

Leadership is desirable but we can leave this out

Although honesty and integrity are non-negotiable,

Self awareness and courage we must strongly insist

Without which it would be completely unsociable.

***

Whole-heartedness has been included and hopefully gained

To allow our project to be completely sincere and committed,

Lastly, we believe we need to include a sense of humour

As laughter, and happiness are best permitted.

***

My assistant has arrived back and managed to procure all

Now it’s time to piece together a modern day Frankenstein,

Merging together all the very best of humanities traits

A piece of love, happiness and kindness by design.
