Mist

Treasure in the opaque

Creeping you come

slithering across the lapping shore,

a silent tide

promising the unknown.

-

A shivering wall

what lies within,

what is the pearl

within your vaporous shell.

-

Like a jealous child

you hoard the open ocean,

consuming sight,

and amplifying sounds.

-

In isolation you are calming

yet when a sense is robbed,

the others enliven

sending shivers down the spine.

-

In blindness you also inspire

a sense of adventure,

the imagination runs wild

when we can't see within.

-

O Mist O Mist,

what promises do you keep,

but don't reveal what we seek

your beauty lies in your mystique.
