It’s the most wonderful time of the year,

But it isn’t the same without you.

I wish you were here.

~

Tinsel and garlands bring cheer,

But it’s not the same on a tomb.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

~

Carols that ring loud and clear,

But there’s a longing under the tune.

I wish you were here.

~

Presents stacked in a tier,

But none of them are for you.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

~

Feasting with those who are dear,

But an empty chair is in view.

I wish you were here.

~

Holiday spirit is near,

But I can’t seem to make it ring true.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

I wish you were here.
