Missing Pieces.
Photo by Charles Etoroma on Unsplash

I saw your face today.

But it's missing your smile.

That big bright smile that stretches to your ears.

It usually reaches your dark brown eyes.

I can't help but smile back when I see it.

Where did it go?

Please don't tell me I took it when I left without you.

Don't let me steal something that is purely yours.

Believe me when I say I'd do anything to bring it back.

I would have done anything to keep it for myself.

I'd hold your hand. I'd kiss your forehead. I would tell you I love you.

Is it missing like small pieces of my heart?

Because I know my heart isn't the same after this.

You can see it in my pictures.

It doesn't quite reach anymore.

The happiness doesn't glow on me like it used to.

Behind my face are the missing parts of my heart that you stole when you left.

About the Creator

Rabbit

I see the world a little differently than most. Even at a young age I was writing down what I saw but never sharing it with a soul until now. I'm choosing love over fear.
