Walking in the solitude of nights simple song

Desperately awaiting homes safety and comfort inside

Thoughts of a day that graciously has gone

Returning back to sanctuary to lock in and hide

Darkness befell the weary traveler's journey

Quickly and savagely falling upon the pour soul's road

To scream, a goal with no possible end in sight for thee

In an instant falling into a weak and quiet mode

Pressure slowing the pumping nectar of life

Dimmed the lights into the abyss

Tensions thickening, cutable with a knife

Feeling the subtle hint of fate's sinister kiss

Stuck inside, tightly stowed and unable to scream out

Eyes darting fruitlessly around

A circumstance more dire, a serious doubt

Were there a way one would ever be found

Whimpers of confined prey amuse the predator to delight

Hearing the sounds of the outside disipate

Now way to run and no room to fight

For death, one can only sit and wait

Hearing the impacts one after the other, hit after hit

Knowing the reality that awaits when it's done

Already, the air goes thin as the missing begins to feel it

They've already enjyed their last day in the sun
