Is it the sickness
in my soul flowing out of me
that makes me feel like I’m dying?
Aches and pains
and memory drains,
and I just want to crawl under a rock
and hibernate for a century.
This isn’t me.
I’ve lost my joy…
though not always.
Sleep eludes me.
Tension fills my every bone…
and even though I’m not alone,
I feel like I have no one.
I need some healing—
mind, body, and soul.
I need to know,
where did I go?
I want back the dreamer
with hopes to fulfill…
instead of this loser
who can’t get her fill.
I long for happiness,
but the harsh reality is,
life is just a trial
that we can’t live through…
Life has crushed me under my rock.
Each time I try to get out,
more fall on top.
The woman who emerges
when all the pain goes away,
might only be a memory
of who I was one day.
Where am I?
The healer, the mystic.
I’m trying to find my own fortune,
but going blind.
Perhaps all I need to do
is take a little time
to unwind.
She is still in the rubble,
but someday she’ll find her way out.
Without a doubt,
stronger than she was before.
