Misleading Perception

Unapologetic Chameleon

By Candace Ranae Published 4 years ago • 1 min read

I sit back and observe

The people and the earth

The ways, that are perceived

A woman in my own space

Not gay, bi, or straight,

Just a woman who likes her pleasure

Trans, woman or man

Fun with what flows

Not one who flaunts her sexual desires

of any one gender to the world

Or one who is ashamed of experiences thats taken place or the possibilities

A woman who is at peace with her sexuality

As she walks through life finding her way

Not moved by expectations of what is assumed to be

Once a woman who identified as lesbian but not so bluntly everyone else knew

Just so defensive about terms and words like stud being used by a person like me.

Which made me confused.

Why is it disrespectful for me to say a word I thought was proper for description and identifying terms of who I was speaking in relations to,

As she assertively let me know that’s disrespectful and the terms not to be used

besides by those who are lgbtq

Whoa,

Minds blown, new awareness my sexual experiences must be put on display

If I want to use terms that define gender roles that aren’t straight

I’m lost by what others think or view,

I’m not in the closet

I’m not on display

Not meant to be perceived that my distance and lack of public affection or family announcements is in any sense a sign of shame

After the parade ill still be

The Chamaeleon of desires

The one who blends but goes all ways,

after the fireworks and dopamine fades

Back to a life alone where i play all roles

And handle what is needed To be, man and woman, aggressive and sweet

I don’t recognize what others see

Validation is with in, and I’m all the validation I need

The Unapologetic Chameleon who has No problem with laying where I want to sleep!
