A pet bird, confused by its own reflection constantly being reflected upon the mirror in its cage, eventually going insane, questioning its existence.
The window on the wall now a consideration for freedom. However, the realisation of clipped wings causes unprecedented fear of failure and the unknown which may lay ahead beyond the window.
Seeds pending, another meal and fresh water.
An occasional head scratch, bringing comfort and some closure.
Screeching and chirping, cries of help.
"Dear human, remove this fucking mirror from my cage."
About the Creator
Armand Slayer
Since fifteen, writing has been my quiet companion. Words, to me, preserve fleeting moments, question certainty, and reveal what often goes unspoken. Every sentence is a journey into memory, emotion, and what it means to be human.
