She looked in the mirror, but she saw someone else

She was the one I loved but found it hard to accept

I saw the woman she had become, but I could see that little girl in her eyes

The 1 she fights so hard to suppress

I loved her for her strength, courage, her beauty, her mind...

But where is that girl? For her, I couldn't find

I see her screaming into the abyss

I'm hoping that she doesn't raise that fist

She's been there time and time before

Sometimes, even hitting the floor

She knows she's going to get up

For life had made her to be nothing but tough

She hides in her pains and hoping they won't see

But what would they see if they can't see ME?

She often becomes overwhelmed

For there is so much that she wants to defend

She wants to break it all down but not to be beaten further down

Let it all out without having to shout

Hear her out is all she asks

But that sometimes seems like the biggest task

There is a burning in her soul

She knows what she needs to meet her goals

Fear of failure or fear of success?

They both have delayed her progress...

Refocus and realign is what she must do

If to herself, she wants to be true...

She is different and that she must see

If her mind and soul she wants to set free.
