Mind of the Writer

A short poem

The ideas in my head are turning, spinning, whirling,

Yet my hand is still...

The golden sun rests on the blank page

Majestic scenes and great feats hang in the air just out of reach

While voices whisper into my ears

And all are begging to see my ideas come to life

Children force my hand

And parents encourage

Soon, there will be a tale to tell.

Backstory: Okay, the story behind this is actually kind of ironic. I was sitting in my writing class back in high school and we needed to do at least one daily entry in our writer's notebooks. I had so many ideas, but for some reason I couldn't write them down or the moment I tried it would vanish. I was so frustrated I actually ended up writing a poem about that very problem. Completed my assignment by complaining creatively that I couldn't complete my assignment.
