Hands up millennials, this one’s on you

‘Hey,’ I can vouch, for I am too.

This is your heads up,

I won’t be a bore, promise.

It’ll be short and snappy, I’m sure.

The rant and rave is not your doing,

Though you are pivotal in this matter,

So just sit tight, it’s for the better.

I know you’ve heard of misdirection,

‘Yes,’ this is the issue that deserves attention.

‘Take that damn phone off the table,

My face is over here!’

‘Live the virtual life?’ Okay,

But good shall not appear.

There’s a news flash headed your way,

You are the star in show,

So flatter yourself all you want,

But all that will come is woe.

Adhere to these rules right now,

They are constrictive, I’ll have you know.

So burst that bubble round your head,

Otherwise succumb to it instead.

For a tool misused can be a weapon,

You know which one I mean,

It’s terms of use are grey indeed,

But undoubtedly in urgent need.

So all that’s asked is please beware,

vanity is vacuous and bare,

You know it’ll screw you, should you dare.

‘A like for a like?’–don’t be so shallow!

We just want a social medium,

And I hope you also follow.
