Midnight Reflections
In the Midst of the Night
Covered by the veil of night,
A black, holding the emptiness,
The sorrows, the struggles of generations.
The cool touch of the moon caresses my skin.
Bathed in a light
Made to rival the dark.
Drip
The light, cold
Almost icy
Catching the heavy wishes stumbling down my cheeks.
Drip
Echoing across my face, staring back,
Imprinted on a mirrored world.
Miming, mimicking, mocking.
Hard to recognize, the eyes that have remained
As everything else becomes sculpted.
Drip
Lost in the present
Guided by error, excitement, longing
To know the destination.
Drip
Ripples blur me. Distorting what I am
Looking for, deep within.
Muddied in the mirror of my life.
Drip
Chilled by the light
Drawn to the dark.
As the waters still,
Will I be looking back?
