Marlboro’s midnight magic, meandering mist, escapes my lips

Cherry lipstick stains the rim of my chilled, whiskey sour twist

Faded, tear stained letters lay on the floor, torn up as I am

I should be getting better, but I just don’t give a damn

The years have marked my skin - Like a leopard, wears it’s spots

A car veering off a cliff, without the means to stop

I’m waiting for the bad news, aka, the other shoe to drop

I’ve traded in my happiness at an IOU pawnshop

But, I’ll fake it till I make it - Because, mind over matter counts

I’ll keep on keeping on, before my time has all run out

Keep on keeping on, indeed. It's all we can do. Well done, as always.
