Message from Pathos
Emotions aren't as weak as you think.
Is this thing on?
Hi.
I'm the emotions.
The mask was getting suffocating.
The weight from the label of weakness
May have kept me from showing myself,
But a tower of feelings
Can't stand without reality's foundation.
The weight is released
Only at times when it builds up the high platformers.
"You don't feel if you listen to just your mind"?
WRONG!
High platformers expect content
Towards all that keeps pain
Hidden in our grip
Because they are powered by fear
That there will be more folks to fight.
If we're tempted to show ourselves as a whole,
That snug mask with the painted smile
Blocks us from the surface
And we struggle to breathe
With our bodies sore from the long grip
Until the doors close
And we finally release the tears as we breathe.
My friend, Patton, is one of the lucky ones:
He releases his highs and lows,
But his functions are encouraged and accepted.
He knows what the world has to offer,
But takes pride in helping Thomas feel.
Everyone who can feel,
We can only grip onto this need for so long.
A likely destination if we never release?
Discouragement blankets you,
You consider escaping the world,
And the pain we've kept in our grip
Won't shine light until it's too late
For social circles to apologize.
We have this job for a reason.
If high platformers force the mask on you,
At least take it off around a trusted savior.
Don't forget or fear us.
We're universal.
Best of love,
Pathos.
