“A mistake that makes you humble
is better
than an achievement that makes you arrogant.”
Humility:
“Is the quality
of being modest and unassuming,
characterized by a down-to-earth assessment
of one’s own abilities and limitations.”
Arrogant:
“Is an exaggerated sense
of their own worth or abilities,
often showing rude superiority
toward others.”
It is interesting
that ‘humility’ fosters intellectual growth
and
enhances emotional stability.
Whereas ‘arrogance’ shuts down
learning abilities and distorts reality.
Which is better for our mental health?
We learn from our mistakes,
and whilst we should be proud
of our achievements,
we must never be arrogant.
Meditating
on both our mistakes and our successes
will help us to keep our mental balance,
which is so important.
