When darkness felled Meadowview,Virginia,

Dinner is on the table,

Wondering what dinner was cooked,

We all looked,

Now we know,

Where the wonderful smells came from,

We sit down,

Jabber during dinner,

Each thing I hear,

Either wonderful,

And joyful too,

For once on this night,

I was not feeling blue,

Then a rattling sound,

The house shook,

Running to the door,

Take a good look,

Here comes the Norfolk Southern Train,

I don't think it was hauling grain,

There the bright blinking lights,

Brightened up the night,

Loud the locomotive sounds,

Wondering where it is bound,

I smiled,

Told everyone that things were okay,

They returned without much delay,

The Norfolk Southern train,

Goes on down the grade,

Now the house,

No longer from dinner,

Are we roused,

Here in Meadowivew.
