I am a rainbow in a monotone society.

The side effect being life long anxiety

When I’m blue

I wear it true

When I’m angry I glow red hot

Neatly tucked is something I’m not

I guess I’m just inside out

Flexing my colors all about

I’m amalgamation of colors that clash

Painted with a rainbow rash

Sometimes you might find I’m quite contagious

My color palette is quite outrageous

If you prefer neutral hues

You wouldn’t want to live in my shoes

All these colors can make such a mess

Misanthrope for life I guess

I’m afflicted and will never get better

But I proudly wear my Scarlett letter

surreal poetry
